Every great magic trick consists of three acts.

The Pledge
The Turn
The Prestige

Simply outstanding movie which I would place beside my beloved Shawshank.

Singapore...
Endless words showered by the local media to describe the beauty of this island.

Yet more and more of the elderly are stooping themselves to bury their hands into our garbage bins.

Why?

I think something is seriously wrong somewhere.
|
Heavy stench of perfume.
Manicures & Pedicures.
Coloring of hair.
Plucking of eye brows.
Nip n Tuck

Hundred spent on needless clothes and accessories.
Fearing to even try wearing the same shirt twice in 5 days.

So much is done to beautify the outside, giving a false presence.
Ever thought of the inside?

Whats the point if the outside smells great but the inside stinks?

Lie all we want, to different people, thinking we are running away freely, unheard and untouched.
But remember the day will come when we will be placed on the podium.
What will we say then?
Will you dare look him in the eye...
or maybe even try one final lie?

Why... even I'm guilty.

All good things must come to an end.
When all else prevails, death will take it's toll.
Embrace it.

Because while its an end to one chapter, it's the start to another.

Zombie.

It's Deepavali and I am down with the flu.
Happy Deepavali to one and all who knows of this festival.

Some good news...

Give, Do Not Take! has been nominated in this year's Asian Television Awards for two categories.

Drunk whites claiming Singapore is better than California.

A friend goes home to find out she is locked out.

Bengs so drunk that they try shots while puking.

Being told you are slurring and repeating yourself when you constantly warn yourself that you are sober.

Lying on the bed, closing your eyes to see the world spinning.

Sensual Lyrics.

In My Other World

In my other world
There is no pain
And all my thoughts
Are clouds of happiness

In my other world
My heard beats red
There is no gun
Pointed at my head

And I don't really want your kiss
My thoughts don't make me cry
My heart's not filled with grey sadness
My ears can't hear you lie

And I can't even see your face
I've never heard your name
My heart is still my thoughts are calm
And the light has filled this space

In my other world
My pain is bliss
I own your soul
I own your kiss
In my other world

A tribute to the indian in me.

3 reasons for placing this song in my blog:

1. This MV was shot in Kerala, where my parents come from.

2. A gentle reminder that songs from india have long abandoned the concept of dancing around coconut trees.

3. I caught the movie about a month back in cinemas and i thought it was shot really well.

Death & Life

Last weekend i read on a cancer victim from Singapore living his last few weeks, now posts his emotions and stuff online via videos shot fortnightly in order to create awareness towards cancer.

"Once you learn how to die, you learn how to live."
Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom

I've been into reads on life after death recently. Most of them claim that once a person is dead, he returns to his family or closed ones and tries to either protect them or speak to them via various means, some may start freaking the living by making their presence felt by moving things, to appearing during dreams or meditation.

An interesting account my father told my family today:

A couple of months ago an uncle of mine passed on, he was extremely close to my dad because they were the only two in the family tree who stayed back in Singapore while the rest of the family went back to india or moved to england. They were like really close till my uncle moved to Sabah after his marriage. Despite the distance, the two kept in contact via phone calls atleast once a week, they were so thick that when my dad got chicken pox he actually came down to spend time with my dad despite being aware that it could spread to him too.

One day my dad dreamt of the close cousin of his... they were having a phone conversation in his dream, in which my uncle asked several random questions regarding my dad's health and daily habits, he ended the call asking my dad to visit him as its been some time since my dad last met him. My dad said ok and ended the conversation.

My dad woke up that morning to a phone call from this uncle's son (who's name by the way is also Manoj), to inform that his dad had passed on. My dad left that morning for Sabah to visit his close cousin.

Just a random post on life and death.
