Something interesting.

To cut the story short, according to Hinduism, once annually, whoever that dies today, goes to heaven cause of something related to Perummal (wasn't quite listening to the explanation my mom was telling).

So people actually flock to the Perummal temple today, cause a special area of the temple is opened (once annually) and whoever that dies today is deemed blessed.

Oh and my mom ended the conversation when I got home, telling me Saddam was hung today.

Anyway Happy New Year to one and all in advance!

I will spend my countdown in camp, half asleep ofcourse. No Booze, No screaming, just checking passes n escorting.

I lead a sad life

My electricity tripped thanks to a faulty switchbox.
Just changing one of those small switches cost my parents 90bucks.
Thats besides the point.

Everytime something screws up with the electricty,
my modem screws up.

N that screws me up.
I threw a mini tantrum at myself in the room just cause my internet was down.
I left home asap cause I realised I had nothing better to do.

And now I am suddenly just so glad that the net is back up.

I remember the first day my home had an internet 56k connection.
My brother was so happy in his room, boasting it away to my parents.
He tried attracting me to the PC,
I just couldnt give 2 hoots,
cause there was some cartoon on Teevee.
I didnt even bother replying to him while my eyes were glued elsewhere.

Look at me now.
Sad Me.

When u die
A crowd gathers
They moan

U made it big this time round?
The papers feature you for a day

Life goes on the next day

Apparently we are called Humans.

Life.

Sundays. At the age of 5.
I used to wake up to my 2 brothers tickling me.
By the time, they are done amusing themselves my dad would be home from the market, with Prata for us.
Id be able to hear my mom chopping away at meat for lunch. She'd point towards my breakfast n tell me to brush my teeth first.

A simple family of 5.
In a 5 room flat.

Heading to the Omni Max Theatre or a shopping complex like Diamaru made our weekend.
We watched movies as a family, previewed by my eldest brother, listening to his recommendation.

I spent my days laughing as a family.

Sundays. At the age of 11.
I used to wake up hearing my brother talking to my mother in the kitchen, while my father had gone to the market.
Love marriages were taboo back then in our community.
I was the last to know that my brother had found that other half, he got married after a year and moved out to start his own family.

A simple family of 4.
In a 5 room flat.

My eldest brother became a father 2 years later.
East Shore Hospital.

The family of 4 was greated by my brother, I saw a man infront of us.
A change even the much acclaimed NS failed to do.
The child was named Maaduri.

Sundays. At the age of 16.
My mother tells my 2nd brother of her plans to get him an arranged marriage.
He confesses that he too has found someone.
This time round, I was the one who had to tell my mom that it was a Japanese.

He got married and moved out to start a family of his own.

A simple family of 3.
In a 5 room flat.

Sundays. At the age of 20.
My eldest brother comes over with his 2 children (Maaduri n Haresh) giving my parents eternal happiness.
My 2nd bother pops in with his wife.
And at then of the day they leave.

The filled house is suddenly left with 3 people again.
The cycle continues.
I miss those days which i enjoyed as a 5 year old.
I miss those Sundays.

I have learnt one lesson after 20years.
Everything on earth is temporary.
Even me.
