inner circle - Sweat.

The "Ah la-la-la-long" song. I'm sure you've heard it at least during your primary school days; and just like me, you must have paid little attention to the rest of the song besides the famous "Ah la-la-la-long" bit.

A track which was cemented into every play list played during functions held by my RC for a good four years or more. In fact, till this day, I hear them blasting this song while waiting for the crowd to arrive annually.
i.e Our christmas party and lantern festival.

I just realised the lyrics today:

Girl I want to make you sweat
Sweat till you can't sweat no more
And if you cry out
I'm gonna push it some more, more more

Girl I want to make you sweat
Sweat till you can't sweat no more
And if you cry out
I'm gonna push it
Push it, push it some more

Either the Uncle who played Mr. DJ for all those parties was just as ignorant as us kids, or there was some serious adult fun going on without us kids knowing.

FRENCH excitement machine Jo-Wilfried Tsonga destroyed Rafael Nadal with an awesome mix of power and finesse to become the latest tennis no-name to gatecrash the Australian Open.

A star is born and I seem to have a special liking for him cause of the "Om" he wears around his neck.

the Stadia.

Photobucket
I've always loved nice majestic stadiums since I was a kid. The national stadium is one which I hold close to heart despite not being fortunate enough to have enjoyed the Malaysian Cup in its best days in Singapore. Till this day, every time I pass by the Kallang vicinity, I always look out for our national stadium. Maybe not the best of stadiums, yet I think it's really gorgeous, one of the last few landmarks left behind by our former invaders.

To put things simple, I'm tired of our structures trying to be unique when they're actually sad rip offs from structures that already exist elsewhere. The Sail, Esplanade, the new wheel like thingy are all just the tip of the iceberg.

It's sad that our new national stadium is being compared to some stadium in Japan now.

Buffet.

My size explains the amount I'm capable of eating during a normal meal; but I'm yet to learn the knack of being able to make your moneys' worth at a buffet table. I've heard several pieces of advice from the pros and have learnt along the way, but I've still been chickening out even before the grill heats up.

I've had my moments learning things the tough way. Sadly my two wonderful besties have seen the worst of these weird antics of mine.

Yellow Noodles.
I dump in a whole lump of them into the steamboat and end up eating it all up, feeling full even before tasting any meat. Ending up going to the toilet, needing to take an urgent crap.

Lessons learnt: Loose the noodles and please empty your bowels before a buffet.

Freeflow of Drinks.

The whole idea of drinks on the flow got me so excited once, I drank almost every fizzy drink, forgetting the food, hence not eating much, instead drank every drink till it was too late.

Lesson learnt: Drink just plain chilled water.

Bread & Butter
I followed the basic rules... starting a buffet from the appetizers and working down the line; only to be ridiculed for spending so much, going for a buffet and eating plain bread with butter! Once again, I had to skip most of the stuff, and ended up tasting and forcing down the rest of the meal, thanks to the bread and butter which did it's work.

Lesson learnt: Screw the appetizers next time!

Even despite all these bloopers and trying to learn from them all, I'm still suffering at buffets... would someone please throw me "an idiots guide" please! It's not so much of an issue, but it gets irritating... when you can't eat, when you set out to do so mentally and you just can't find the reason.

Today I went with Shalini, ended up enjoying the desserts 15minutes into the buffet, despite having taken a break by taking a walk to the box office to grab some tickets.

All I did was give her a dull lamp for Christmas last year. This is what she did with it.

conspiracy.

Over the years, there have been many claims, too many in fact. Some I've heard of would be that "Hotel California" backwards is Satanic, Teletubbies are the works of the devil as well... the list just goes on. The latest I just heard are that Ernie and Bert are apparently gay. That's been affecting me big time cause, why would they be gay when they've been fighting with each other daily for the past 20 to 30 years. It doesn't help that I grew idolizing Ernie (still am wondering why actually). I remember going to the indoor stadium with my mom and watching Sesame Street with a little Ernie, propped up on a stick, waving it around and coming close to stabbing my moms's eye a couple of times.

When we talk about kids programs with on screen same sex couples, I seriously think we're forgetting two of the sickest bastards I've ever heard of.

Think about it, they're freaking walking BANANAS. They have the whole "we think alike" shit going on. The list just doesn't end. I'm sorry, I'm just a little affected by two walking bananas and I hope you are too.

bitten.

I feel horrible cause I know I'm the reason for the discomfort she's going through. Yet I can't do much cause of the conditions I find myself restricted in.

It's time I pay more attention to my actions.

I'm sorry.

Shalini finally met my besties after all that talk about each other to the other party. I'd say things went really well. Some decent food, seisha, and a self proclaimed "King of Haji lane" cause apparently he provides the tobacco to the shops round the area.

It was nice having wonderful souls around me and I hope this is the first of many such gatherings.

Manoj Twist.

I was left home alone with nothing for breakfast cause my parents had a prayer to attend to. I thought hard and decided to make the best outta whatever was in the fridge for my breakfast. Having nothing much left, I did hard boiled eggs, pounded my own pepper despite there being some in the bottle (just to feel all so "cheffy" and good), added some ketchup and mixed it all up.

I had the interesting mixture with 3 slices of bread and felt rather good with what I had put together. Then came the drink, I boiled some water, tried changing the Milo equation to prevent it from being too milky, so I added less milk, more milo, sugar and stirred it all up. I tasted it and it tasted weird for some funny reason. I thought it was cause I hadn't mixed it enough so I mixed it a couple more times before trying it for a second time.

Thats when I realised that I had added salt instead of sugar. I settled for a glass of cold water.
